Helicentre Aviation Academy, a helicopter school, announced the introduction of its new Integrated Commercial Pilot Licence with Instrument Rating course starting in 2024. Training will be done from their Midlands and London Oxford Airport bases.

What is Helicentre?

Helicentre has a long history of giving helicopter pilot training, since its beginning two decades ago, it has been one of the main schools for modular training programs. In 2019, the academy launched its first fully Integrated CPL(H) course for helicopter pilots, which was a big success. All the graduates from this promotion have secured their First Officer positions offshore, a proof of the quality of such a program.

Course Development and Approval:

  • Over 18 months in development: The integrated CPL(H)/IR course has been developed in the last 18 months to provide a complete training syllabus.
  • CAA Approval: Helicentre has recently received approval from the UK's Civil Aviation Authority for its MCC course, using an AW109 SP MCC simulator based at the London Oxford base.

What helicopters do they have?

Helicentre operates a fleet of 17 company-owned helicopters and employs 15 full-time flight instructors, teaching to students the Integrated CPL(H) courses. This new CPL(H)/IR course has been designed to offer time and cost savings to future pilots looking to start their careers in aviation.

Key Highlights of the CPL(H)/IR Course:

  • Locations: Courses can be run from Midlands or London Oxford Airport bases.
  • Employment Success: Past graduates have achieved a 100% employment rate in pilot roles.

This new CPL(H) course shows Helicentre's commitment to the evolving industry, as well as a will to provide future pilots with high quality training.
