FTE Jerez and Iberia launch latest cadet programme

The Cadet Pilot Program is officially being launched between Spanish flag carrier Iberia and the Spanish-based flight school, FTE Jerez. A whole new generation of pilots will now be trained for Iberia.

 

What is it ?

The Iberia Cadet Pilot Program gives a chance to divide the price of the training. This is planning to commence towards the end of 2024 for the candidates who will successfully go through the assessment. The number of pilots that have already gone through the program currently stands at 48 as of this date. Interested parties have until 15 May to apply, and applications can be made at www.ftejerez.com/iberia.php.

 

A word from the management of Iberia

Rafael Jiménez-Hoyos, who is the Production Director at Iberia, said that they were very excited about the continuation of this program because it has made young people get excited about becoming pilots and brought them financial support as conditions for their training. The director of FTE Jerez, Óscar Sordo, also showed pride in Iberia partnering with FTE Jerez in developing a new generation of pilots. He further said that this new announcement for candidates is an appreciation of the program's success that began in 2017 and the continued growth and promising future for the aviation industry.

 

Iberia Cadets Training Program

Iberia Cadets will undergo the integrated ATPL course, also called the Airline First Officer Programme (AFOP) at FTE Jerez. The course's price is €118,600. Candidates that are chosen in the end will pay 50 % of the cost. The remaining amount is paid by Iberia, and it is directly deducted from their gross salary after successful completion of their type rating course for the A320 and being recruited into the Iberia Group as pilots. Candidates must also pay for the cost of their Airbus A320 Type Rating, done by an Iberia-approved training provider.

  • 62 weeks of training
  • Full-board accommodation, including three meals a day
  • Fees for the first attempt at EASA ATPL Theoretical and Flight EASA Exams
  • Renewal of the EASA Class One Medical certification
  • All required training material
  • Landing fees
  • FTE Jerez cadet uniform
